Walk in to AC Hotel’s downtown Portland property and experience a light, open space brought to life through an authentic, multi-dimensional art collection. Marriott’s European boutique hotel appeals to the modern traveler who appreciates architecture and style.   

 

HM&Co was engaged to design, direct and implement a memorable art program that captures the personality Portland, and all her quirky qualities, with elegance and sophistication. We embraced the vision to compose an eclectic material-centric collection of 24 custom and two pre-existing works.

Artists, such as Damien Gilley, Emily Natchison, Mike Suri and Shelley Socolofsky, lend their voices along with a collection of printmaker’s

works etched on bronze mirror, and image of local historic brewer Henry Weinhard’s barrel room hand-painted on steel and more. 

 

Engagement during the schematic phase enabled us to work in hand-in-hand with SERA Architects and Sage Hospitality to influence the architecture and lighting to support the art. 

 

AC Hotel Portland is a finalist for the Gold Key Award through Boutique Design magazine, a publication that profiles the designers creating inventive spaces in hospitality venues around the globe.
